POINT PLEASANT BEACH – The New Jersey Department of Transportation will start a weeklong railroad crossing replacement project starting at 7 a.m. on Thursday that will result in some road closures and detours, a DOT spokesman said.
Two-way traffic on Atlantic Avenue will be closed at the railroad crossing between Route 35 and Cincinnati Avenue and St. Louis Avenue, said Kevin Schapiro
The existing railroad crossing will be removed and replace with a new concrete crossing and asphalt approach. The project is slated to end on June 22, he said.
