Scott J. Brown Of Point Pleasant Dies At 68

A memorial service is slated for Sept. 24 in Point Pleasant Beach.

Scott J. Brown of Point Pleasant, NJ, passed away on Aug. 29, 2017 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. He was 68.

Born and raised in Point Pleasant, Scott lived in Salt Lake City, Utah, San Francisco and West Palm Beach, Florida before he returned to Point Pleasant in 2006. He graduated from Point Pleasant Borough high school in 1967, where he excelled in numerous sports, including soccer, baseball, and basketball.

He remained throughout his life an avid Dodgers and Lakers fan. Growing up he developed a key interest in music as well as antiques and collectables, and became widely known as an expert and knowledgeable consultant regarding the field.

His father, Capt. Harvey Brown, passed in 1993. He is survived by his partner, Mick Vann, mother Victoria R. Brown, brother, Terrence Brown, sister -in- law, Nancy, niece, Danielle Brown Ippolito, her husband, Anthony, great-nephew, Gabriel Anthony Ippolito, Point Pleasant and nephew Brian P. Brown, his wife, D., great-nephew, Jake Daniel Brown, Southwest Harbor, Maine.

Cremation was private and under the direction of Van Hise and Callagan Funeral Home.

A memorial service will be held at Van Hise and Callagan Funeral Home, 812 Arnold Ave., Point Pleasant Beach from 10 a.m. to noon on Sunday Sept. 24.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made in Scott's memory to St. Gregory's Pantry, Point Pleasant Beach.
