Teacher From Point Pleasant Accused Of Sexual Assault On Mercer County Student
The woman teaches in Mercer County and is charged with sexual assault; prosecutors say she had sex with the student at a Monmouth Co. park.
FREEHOLD, NJ — A Point Pleasant woman who teaches at a Mercer County high school has been arrested on charges she was having a sexual relationship with a student, the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office said Tuesday.
Jessica Sawicki, 37, has been charged with five counts of second-degree sexual assault and five counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago said.
Sawicki, who has been an English teacher at Hamilton High School West for at least seven years, is accused of sexually assaulting the student at the Assunpink Wildlife Management Area in Upper Freehold Township on multiple occasions, Santiago's office said.

The investigation by the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office Special Victims Bureau, the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office, and New Jersey State Police began earlier this year, prosecutors said.
Sawicki was arrested without incident earlier this week and is being held at the Monmouth County jail pending a first appearance and detention hearing.
