Water Conservation Reminder Issued In Point Pleasant
The water conservation rules are in effect every summer in Point Pleasant, officials said. Recent rain eased demand on the water system.
POINT PLEASANT, NJ — While a string of high heat index days and little rain prompted a reminder to conserve water, Point Pleasant residents are supposed to be following water use restrictions every summer.
Borough administrator Frank Pannucci said the odd-even water conservation restrictions are in effect for the summer months under an ordinance that has been in place for years.
"In periods of severe drought we remind everyone and add extra enforcement," Pannucci said Wednesday.

"The last few weeks we had severe heat and zero rainfall," he said. Unrelated to the weather, there were mechanical issues with one of the well pumps, which have since been repaired, Pannucci said.
Recent rain has helped reduce the stress on the system and the borough is back to normal, he said.
