Alexander Road Detour in Place Through June 29

The project is on track, but there are no plans to reopen the road earlier than planned, engineer says.

West Windsor Township Engineer Francis Guzik confirmed on Thursday afternoon that the Alexander Road detour will be in place through June 29, despite rumors to the contrary.

There is currently a 24-hour detour and drivers are being re-routed along Route 1-Washington Road-Faculty Road.

After June 29, there will be partial road lane closures from 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. until the end of the project.

Guzik said if things change and it's possible to reopen Alexnder Road before June 29, officials will alert the public as soon as possible.

Local homes and business, including Obal Garden Market are still accessible, although there may be times where Canal Road can only be reached from the Princeton side of Alexander Road, requiring drivers to use the detour route to Faculty Road and Alexander Road.
