Burr told the community that Carsdale was the first teacher he hired after becoming principal of the middle school.

“This is kind of a sweet moment for me to see that evolution — to bring somebody from our staff to this position is special,” Burr said.
The BOE voted unanimously to appoint Carsdale in her new role.
In her short speech following her appointment, Carsdale gave a shout-out to the 1500 students who took her class in the past 13 years.
“As much as I hope I made an impact on your education, I know without a doubt you made a great impact on me as an educator. Thank you for helping shape who I am today,” Carsdale said.
“I stand before you ready to take action. I’m excited to work in partnership with Jason Burr and John McCann.”
She will begin in her new role effective July 1.
