Cold Temperatures Coming: Princeton Warming Stations are Open

Extreme cold temperatures are expected in the Princeton area over the next few days. Temperatures will be in the teens with wind chills will make it feel below 0. 

Today, Thursday, the forecast calls a slight chance of snow after 1 p.m. with a high near 22. Wind chill values as low as -9. Tonight will be partly cloudy with a low around 7. Wind chill values as low as -3. 

On Friday, it's expected to be sunny, with a high near 21. Wind chill values as low as -4. Overnight, a low around 16.

The following Princeton locations will be resource centers where you can warm up and charge your electronic devices.  

  • Monument Hall, located on the Corner of Bayard and Nassau Street. Use the main entrance and the warming station is the main meeting room located on the first floor. Open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 23.  
  • Witherspoon Hall, Located at 400 Witherspoon Street.  Use the main entrance and the warming station is in the community room.  Open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 24. 
  • Princeton Senior Resource Center, 45 Stockton Street, Use the main entrance and you can ask for information at the front reception desk. Open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday Jan. 23 and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridy, Jan. 24. 
  • Princeton Public Library, Sands Library Building, 65 Witherspoon Street.  The main lobby opens at 7 a.m. and the library opens at 9 a.m. and closes at 9 p.m. 
  • The lobby of the Princeton Police Station, 1 Valley Road is available as an emergency 24 hour a day warming station.
