Council Gives Princeton Schools $168K In Hazardous Busing Costs
The payment was made for the 2023-2024 school year.

PRINCETON, NJ - The Council on Monday adopted a resolution authorizing a payment of $168,000.00 to Princeton Public Schools for hazardous busing transportation costs.
The payment is for the 2023-2024 school year.
According to the resolution, the Municipality will reimburse the school district costs for transporting children who reside on any street that would involve crossing or traveling along
certain hazardous routes, as established by the former Borough of Princeton and the
former Township of Princeton.

The payment was made after the Municipality's CFO certified that sufficient funds were available to pay for the transportation services.
However, the resolution does not bind the Municipality to continue such reimbursement

beyond the 2023-2024 school year. And going forward, the Municipal Administrator is authorized to discuss with the Superintendent and Board to reevaluate the hazardous busing policies.
