Emergency Crews Rescue Woman Stranded in Car
Minutes later, crews rescue three more people in separate incident.
Emergency crews rescued a woman by boat early Sunday after her car got stuck in rising waters along Mercer Road south of the Quaker Bridge over Stony Brook.
She was not injured, officials said.
The woman was driving from Princeton toward Lawrence Township when her car stalled in the lowlands along Mercer Road, also Route 27.

After hours of rain, the area was flooded, specifically about a 500 yard stretch of road south of Hale Road.
"There's a lot of lowland between this and Quaker Road, "said Bob Allen of Princeton First Aid and Rescue Squad, who helped the woman to safety.

The water level was up to the car's running board and rising fast, officials said. Instead of wading into the water, emergency protocol dictates a water water rescue using an inflatable raft so that crews don't get stuck in rising waters.
The incident happened around 12:30 a.m. on Sunday. The woman was brought to safety by 1 a.m.
Minutes later, crews rescued three more people from a vehicle stuck in the water during a separate incident. No one was injured, police said.
