Former 'Star Trek' Captain, Princeton Resident, Arrested for DUI

Police in Wilton, Conn. responded to a call from a concerned resident that the former Star Trek star was operating his vehicle under the influence.

 

Avery Brooks, 63, of Princeton, best known for his lead role as Captain Benjamin Sisko in the 1990s TV series Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, was arrested and charged with DUI in Wilton at around 2 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 29.

Police said they received a phone call from a concerned person who believed that Brooks had left a residence intoxicated. Responding to the call,  located Brooks’ car and pulled him over near Belden Hill Road and Seir Hill Road; police subsequently found Brooks to be intoxicated, according to police reports.

Brooks was taken into custody and then refused to take a breathalyzer test, police said. He was released on a promise to appear in court.
