Frontier Airlines Adds Daily Flights To Florida From Trenton

MERCER COUNTY, NJ — Planning to trip to Florida? Well, now you can get to Fort Lauderdale in just three hours, without having to brave the rush at Newark or Philadelphia International airports

Frontier Airlines will begin daily non-stop flights from Trenton-Mercer Airport to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, beginning Feb. 17. Trenton is among the dozen new routes recently added to Fort Lauderdale by the low-fare carrier.

“We’re excited to expand our low fare service in South Florida in a big way by announcing service to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport with the rollout of 12 new nonstop routes, adding to our existing extensive service at both Miami and West Palm Beach,” said Daniel Shurz, senior vice president of commercial, Frontier Airlines.

“Our ‘Low Fares Done Right’ approach to travel isn’t one-size-fits-all, rather Frontier’s unique model is structured to meet the needs of every flyer with affordable fares and customizability. We look forward to launching at FLL in early 2022 with a robust schedule, including daily departures to seven popular destinations, such as Atlanta and Philadelphia.”

Frontier already had flights from Trenton to various destinations, including Charleston, West Palm Beach, Jacksonville, Myrtle Beach, Nashville, Minneapolis, Ft. Myers, Miami, and Orlando.

According to officials, Trenton-Mercer Airport averages approximately 85,000 take-offs and landings each year. Officials have appealed to the FAA with plans to improve the terminal to increase the capacity of the airport. Currently, the airport processes over 377,000 passengers annually.
