Goldman Sachs Donates $2 Million to PDS for Financial Aid Endowment
This year, the school awarded approximately $4.5 million to 25 percent of the student body.

Goldman Sachs Gives has awarded a $2 million endowed gift in support of need-based financial aid at the school, Barbara Griffin Cole ’78, Chair of the Princeton Day School Board of Trustees announced.
“We are incredibly grateful for the generosity of Goldman Sachs Gives, and are elated to be able to expand Princeton Day School’s financial aid program so that we can continue to enroll the most talented and diverse student population possible," Cole said. "This gift leads us ever closer to our goal of meeting the demonstrated need of our families.”
Recipients of the financial aid provided by this gift will be known as the “Goldman Sachs Scholars.

Head of School Paul J. Stellato echoed those sentiments.
“Proud as it is of its commitment to providing access and opportunity for the most talented students in our area, Princeton Day School is heartened by the generosity of Goldman Sachs, Stellato said. "At a moment when the single barrier between a gifted, curious child and a world-class education is that of tuition dollars, this remarkable gift will enable our school to shatter that wall and extend its unqualified support.”

This gift is awarded through Goldman Sachs Gives, a donor-advised fund that makes grants to qualifying nonprofit organizations around the world, including educational institutions.
The fund supports underserved communities through building and stabilizing communities, honoring service and veterans, creating jobs and economic growth, and increasing educational opportunities. According to the Goldman Sachs Gives website, “Since 2010, more than 12,600 grants totaling $667 million have been donated to over 3,000 charities across 35 countries.”
PDS enrolls more than 920 students in grades PreK through 12. This year, the school awarded approximately $4.5 million to 25 percent of the student body. The average grant is $14,500. The awarded grants range from $3,500 to nearly full tuition plus fees.
