Princeton Opens Cooling Stations as Heat Wave Approaches
Four cooling stations will offer relief from the scorching weather.

A heat wave will hit Princeton today and temperatures are expected to soar into the mid to high 90s at least throughout the weekend.Â
The combination of heat and humidity will make temperatures feel nearly 100 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.
The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat warning from noon on Friday through 8 p.m.Â

Princeton has opened the following cooling stations throughout town for those seeking relief from the heat:
- Princeton Township Police Department Lobby, 1 Valley Road: Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.Â
- Princeton Public Library, 65 Witherspoon St.: Open Monday-Friday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.Â
- Princeton Senior Resource Center, 45 Stockton Street, 1 Monument Drive: Open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. except July 2 and July 3.
- Princeton Borough Hall Lobby, 1 Monument Drive: Open Monday-Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.Â

- Drink plenty of fluids.
- Stay out of the sun and in an air-conditioned room.Â
- Do strenuous activity in the early morning or evening.Â
- Wear light and loose fitting clothing.
- Drink plenty of water.
- Know the signs and symptoms of heath exhaustion and heat stroke and call 9-1-1 in an emergency.Â
