Due to blocked exit points, young residents were dropped to first responders through a window, a city spokesperson said.
TRENTON, NJ - Residents affected by a fire in a three-story apartment building in Trenton Tuesday morning dropped kids from the blaze to first responders below due to blocked exits, authorities said.
The blaze, first reported on Tyler Street at around 9 p.m., was contained to two apartments on the first floor, according to city spokesman Timothy J. Carroll. The blaze also displaced nearly a dozen residents, Carroll added.
No injuries were reported in the children dropped through the windows, Carroll said, although a man did suffer burns after trying to remove a mattress on fire.
