Letter: Thank You for Battlefield Preservation Efforts

Writer thanks the National Trust for Historic Preservation, Vice President Joe Biden and says someday he hopes to thank the Institute for Advanced Study for deciding not to build its planned faculty housing.

To the Editor:

A month ago, the National Trust for Historic Preservation named the land the Institute for Advanced Study wants to build on as one of the 11th Most Endangered Sites in the Country. The National Trust recognizes the importance of the Princeton Battlefield, something the Princeton Battlefield Society has known for some time. I thank the National Trust for this designation.

I also thank Vice-President Biden for his behind the scenes help, I wrote him too. I would also like to thank all the people who have contacted us to support our efforts. A special thanks to all those who have donated to the Legal Defense Fund and those about to.

Finally, someday I would like to thank the Institute for recognizing the importance of this Battlefield and changing their mind about building. Some day, I hope to do just that!
