Nassau Street Traffic Light Change: Princeton Asks Opinions
Princeton is asking for residents' opinions on the new "pedestrian scramble" traffic light configuration at a Nassau Street intersection.

PRINCETON, NJ — Princeton officials released a survey for residents to share their thoughts on the new traffic signal cycle being tested at the Nassau Street crosswalk.
Days into the pilot project which saw an exclusive pedestrian phase added to the traffic signal cycle at Nassau and Washington Road/Vandeventer, officials want to know what the public thinks so far.
They ask residents a few basic questions like whether they've used an exclusive pedestrian phase traffic signal and if they prefer the new system over the old one, called a lead pedestrian interval, or LPI.

There are some advantages and disadvantages to this. There will be "significant convenience and safety for pedestrians," the town said, and removes the possible conflict between pedestrians and turning vehicles.
