Princeton Celebrates Pride Month, 50th Anniversary Of Disco Era With Community Dance Party
"Pride on the Plaza," is a community all-ages disco dance party with live music.
PRINCETON, NJ - June is Pride month and Princeton is all ready to celebrate the contributions of the LGBTQI community and their fight for equal rights.
On Friday, Princeton Public Library will kick off Pride Month and boogie the night away with “Pride on the Plaza,” a community all-ages disco dance party with live music by The Einstein Alley Disco Funk Machine. The event will be held from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., at Hinds Plaza.
It is the 50th anniversary of the height of the disco era that began in 1975, and PPL is going all out to mark this musical milestone. Guests are encouraged to get their groove on by wearing clothing inspired by the era.
The event will also feature an appearance by drag artist Divinity Banks and a chance to join everyone in doing The Hustle and other iconic dances.
Inside the library in the Community Room, there will be space to connect with others between dancing.
