Princeton Man Found With Handgun, Magazine In Lawrence: PD
The man and his companion are lodged at the Mercer County Correctional Center pending a detention hearing, authorities said.
PRINCETON, NJ — A Princeton man on a bicycle was found in possession of a handgun and magazine., while his companion had an outstanding arrest warrant, Lawrence Police Chief Chris Longo said. Both have been arrested and charged.
On Friday at around 2:34 a.m. Officer Piotr Bystrek was on routine patrol in the 2100 block of Princeton Pike in Lawrenceville, when he found two men on bicycles committing a traffic violation.
Bystrek made contact with the men, who were identified as Jaylin Derry-Poole, 20, and Alfred Kornegay, 31, both from Princeton. An on-scene investigation revealed that both had outstanding warrants for their arrest.

A search revealed that Kornegay had a Ruger Model 9E handgun and a seventeen-round capacity magazine, Longo said.
Kornegay was charged with unlawful possession of a handgun, possession of a weapon by a convicted person, possession of a large capacity magazine and failure to submit to identification procedures.

Derry-Poole was arrested on the outstanding arrest warrant, Longo said.
Derry-Poole and Kornegay were lodged at the Mercer County Correctional Center pending a detention hearing.
