Princeton’s McCarter Theatre Announces Cast For New Musical

PRINCETON, NJ — Broadway performers Jasmine Forsberg and Benji Santiago will be performing in the upcoming world premiere of "I & You: The Musical" at McCarter Theatre Center. The musical will run from Sept. 13 through Oct. 12 in Princeton.

The two-person musical adapts Lauren Gunderson's acclaimed play "I and You," featuring music and lyrics by Ari Afsar. Director Sarah Rasmussen, who directed the original play's 2013 premiere and now serves as McCarter's Artistic Director, returns to helm the musical adaptation.

Forsberg brings extensive Broadway experience from productions including "SIX," "Here Lies Love," and "Old Friends" alongside Bernadette Peters and Lea Salonga. Santiago recently made his Broadway debut in "The Notebook" and previously starred as Usnavi in "In the Heights" at The Muny.

The production represents a collaboration between McCarter and Olney Theatre Center, with support from the BOLD Theater Women's Leadership Circle. Tony Award winner Beowulf Boritt leads the design team, returning to McCarter where he previously designed several productions.
