Princeton Township Police Log Jan. 23-30

The incidents include a tree falling onto a house, an accident with injuries and driving while intoxicated.

 

Police responded to the 200 block of Mount Lucas Road on Monday, Jan. 23 at 8:18 p.m. for a report of a tree that fell into a house.

Police discovered that a large tree uprooted due to the wet ground and fell directly onto a house.No one was injured, but the house suffered extensive damage and is currently uninhabitable.

The utilities were shut down, the house secured and township officials worked with the homeowner to make arrangements for short and long-term housing options.

On Jan. 25, police responded to the intersection of Terhune and Jefferson Roads at 5:14 p.m. for an accident with injuries.

An investigation showed that Manasvini N. Raghu, 30, of North Brunswick, was driving east on Terhune and failed to yield to a vehicle driven by Elizabeth Randall, 52, of Redding Circle, Princeton, while entering the intersection at Jefferson

Raghu complained of neck pain and was transported to Princeton Medical Center. Randall complained of neck and head pain but refused medical treatment. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Raghu was issued a summons for failure to yield.

 

Police arrested a 39-year-old Edison man on Jan. 30 and charged him with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, failure to keep right, failure to maintain lane and driving while intoxicated while in a school zone

Police stopped Shripad P. Kulkarni on Princeton-Kingston Road at 11:49 p.m. for a motor vehicle violation and determined that he was operating his vehicle after consuming alcoholic beverages. Kulkarni was arrested, charged and processed. He was later released to a family member.
