Theft of Identity, Burglary: Princeton Police Blotter
The Princeton Police blotter dated Jan. 2 had the following reports:

PRINCETON, NJ — On Dec. 19, at 5:01 p.m., following the report and investigation of an attempted fraud at a bank on Nassau Street, a 22-year-old Penns Grove, NJ resident was placed under arrest. She was taken to PPD Headquarters where she was processed charged and released. Her charges included: theft of identity, tampering with public records, forgery, hindering apprehension, and false statements to obtain a fraudulent credit card. She was released with a date to appear in Mercer County Superior Court.
On Dec. 19, at 4:17 p.m., following a call for shoplifting that occurred at a retail establishment on N. Harrison St., t 43-year-old Princeton man was placed under arrest and taken to PPD Headquarters where he was processed and charged with shoplifting and defiant trespass. He was later released with a date to appear in court.
On Dec. 19, at 02:22 a.m., following a motor vehicle stop on Battle Road, the driver, a 31-year-old Bradley Beach, NJ resident, was placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated. He was taken to PPD Headquarters where he was processed and charged with DWI, reckless driving, failure to stop/yield at a stop sign, failure to keep right, improper left turn, failure to use lamps, and breath test refusal. He was later released with a date to appear in Princeton Municipal Court.

On Dec. 24, at 02:14 a.m., following a motor vehicle stop on John Street, the driver, a 41-year-old Princeton resident, was placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated. He was taken to PPD Headquarters where he was processed and charged with DWI, reckless driving, and failure to keep the right and open container in a motor vehicle. He was later released with a date to appear in Princeton Municipal Court.
On Dec. 25, at 5:23 p.m., responding to an activated burglar alarm, a check of the residence revealed that unknown individuals attempted to gain entry to the house via a locked window that they opened by breaking the glass. The suspects then fled in an unknown direction so police could arrive.

On Dec. 26, at 3:07 p.m., a caller reported that two people entered a retail establishment on N. Harrison Street and stole several items totaling $110. While they were in the process of fleeing the scene, they dropped the stolen items and fled the area before police could arrive. Suspect 1 was described as a heavyset Black man in his mid-40s with a short, scruffy beard, last seen wearing a green-colored jacket, dark pants, and a black skull cap. Suspect 2 was described as a thin Black man in his mid-40s, with a long beard, last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt, dark pants, and black sneakers.
On Dec. 28, at 6:26 p.m., following the report of an activated burglar alarm, it was discovered that an unknown individual(s) entered the residence through a window that was pried open. It is unknown what, if anything, was taken from the residence. The suspects fled the area before police could arrive.
On Dec. 29, at 2:03 p.m., a man reported that his vehicle was burglarized while it was parked on Mountain Avenue. Cash and several credit cards were stolen from the vehicle and the credit cards were later used to make several purchases in other jurisdictions.
On Dec. 30, at 6:10 p.m., a woman reported that an unknown individual(s) pried open her vehicle while it was parked on Alexander Street and stole her debit card. The unknown suspect attempted to use the debit card to purchase an item in another jurisdiction, however the purchase was declined by the woman’s bank. The cost of the damage to the vehicle is unknown at this time, police said.
On Jan. 1, at 3:25 p.m., following a report and investigation of a male with a knife on Clay Street, a 38-year-old Princeton resident was placed under arrest. He was taken to PPD Headquarters where he was processed and charged with possession of weapons for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of weapons and defiant trespassing. He was later transported and turned over to the custody of the Mercer County Correctional Center.
