All right, I’m going to admit something pretty dorky.
I love my job.
I love being a community journalist, covering everything from school budgets to planning board meetings, from beauty pageants to murder trials.

Last year when I heard about a local rabbi who planned to build a giant menorah made out of PVC piping, galvanized steel rods and more than 250 kosher doughnuts, I couldn't wait to cover the event.
My former coworkers thought I was insane.

But it’s those super-local stories, be it the doughnut menorah or the borough mayoral race or the latest high school sports games that highlight people and events that matter to the community.
Sure, we’re a local news website we hope you’ll read regularly or check out on your way to work.
We’ll cover news, sports, arts, business and police and fire. And more.
But what we really want is to become a part of the community and a place that readers will think of as that "must go to" place where you can find out what's really going on.
From the Princeton schools to issues of municipal consolidation to the latest happenings at the library, Princeton Patch is working to be your "go to" source for everything Princeton.
As your local editor, I’m up for the challenge.
I’ve been a weekly and daily newspaper reporter in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and most recently, in Reading, Pa. Before that, I had a first career in corporate banking.
I moved to Princeton about a month ago, but have always considered this town my second home. That’s because my father’s relatives have lived in Princeton for generations, so I have been a regular visitor here since, well, before I had a choice in the matter.
I grew up in Massachusetts, but considered Trinity Church on Mercer Street to be “my church.” I bought groceries for my grandmother at Davidson’s, the grocery store that occupied what’s now CVS on Nassau Street. And I attended my father’s 25th Reunion from Princeton University (go class of ’62!)
My team of freelancers and I have spent the past several weeks building Princeton Patch so you can see what we’re about right from the start.
But we can’t be "your" news source without you.
So please, call, write, or complain about what you see and what you don't see on our web site.
Send us pictures, videos, press releases, news tips, anything you think might be interesting. No story is too small but we can't get everything without your help.
We'll feature photos and video along with our articles. But, since this site is so interactive, you're encouraged to add to it.
