If you’re frustrated with the red light situation in Ramsey, you are in good company.
While stop lights are one of the necessary evils of commuting, they don’t guarantee safety for pedestrians or cooperation from drivers.
According to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, red-light running is the number one cause of urban crashes. Furthermore in 2013, approximately 127,000 people were injured in red-light related accidents.

Here’s what readers said on social media:
- “I think Ramsey should do something about the race track that is Airmount Ave. Speed traps, patrolling or, better yet, speed bumps!“
- “We have plenty in town. I would love for the one at Darlington and N. Central to actually be enforced, though. So many people run that light still.”
- “I wish they would fix the synchronization with the Main St. light. It’s impossible to make it from one light to the other. They’re timed, so you hit both when going north every time!“
