Mahwah Driver Punched Another Driver At Ramsey Plaza: Police

Nicholas Dow, 30, punched a man in the face, got back into his vehicle, and drove off, police said.

RAMSEY, NJ — A Mahwah man was arrested after he punched a driver in the face at a Ramsey shopping center Wednesday night, police said.

Nicholas Dow, 30, was charged with simple assault and burglary, said Chief Bryan Gurney.

Police responded to the Interstate Shopping Center near TD Bank just before 7:30 p.m. regarding an assault, Gurney said.

The victim said he made a left-hand turn into the parking area of the bank when he was approached by a man who got out of his car, yelling and screaming at him, Gurney said.

The man reached into the victim's vehicle, punched him in the face, and drove off, the chief said.

The victim got out of his vehicle and took a photo of the man's vehicle, a black Nissan sedan. Ramsey police officers got the vehicle's registration information, Gurney said.

Ramsey police responded to Dow's Mahwah home and took him to headquarters to continue the investigation, the chief said.

Dow was charged and taken to the Bergen County Jail on a warrant issued by Ramsey Municipal Court Judge Joseph Rotolo.

Dow was charged with burglary because he reached into the victim's vehicle to punch him, Gurney said.
