Mahwah Museum to Hold Lecture on Ramsey, New Jersey March 12

Hank Bitten will take the audience on a journey through history, showing how New Jersey developed from a colony into the present day.

As part of the Mahwah Museum Lecture Series, the Mahwah Museum will present “New Jersey 350,” a lecture on the state’s history, on Thursday, March 12 at 7:30 p.m.

Hank Bitten will take the audience on a journey through history, showing how New Jersey developed from a colony into the present day with maps and pictures, according to a press release. Most examples will be focused on North Jersey communities such as Mahwah, Ramsey, Oakland, Franklin Lakes, Wyckoff, Ridgewood and Waldwick, though Bitten will also touch on Newark, Passaic, Paterson, Atlantic City and the deep south of New Jersey.

Hank Bitten, a long time educator at both the college and high school level, has had many awards and accomplishments and has contributed to a wide variety of articles and books on topics of history, banking, literacy and human rights, according to a press release.

“New Jersey 350” will be presented at the Ramapo Reformed Church, located at 100 Island Road in Mahwah. Admission is free to Museum members and $3 for non-members. Refreshments will be served. To reserve a seat, email info@mahwahmuseum.org or call 201-512-0099.
