Mahwah Woman Stole $94K From Ramsey Business: Police
Bookkeeper Denise J. Mann stole the money over the course of 5 years by forging checks and making fraudulent bill payments, police said.

RAMSEY, NJ — The bookkeeper of a borough business was arrested Friday after a yearlong investigation into the theft of more than $94,000 from the company, police said.
Denise J. Mann, 42, of Mahwah was charged with second-degree theft, said Chief Bryan Gurney.
Mann was the bookkeeper for North Jersey Door for five years and stole nearly $94,300 from the business using various business bank and credit card accounts, Gurney said.

Mann forged business checks issued to herself, and paid various personal bills and loans with the money, the chief said.
Mann was arrested, charged, and released pending a first appearance in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, Gurney said.

"This was a long and complicated case," the chief said. "I want to thank all the officers involved, particularly, Detective Adam Szelag, the lead investigator, for putting the pieces of this puzzle together for prosecution."
The officers involved in the investigation were, besides Szelag, were: Detective Sgt. Kevin Kelly, Sgt. Anthony Fiore, and Patrolman Thomas Banta.
