Ramsey Seniors Plan Zoo, Nashville Trips

Summer is heating up for Ramsey's Senior Citizens. Below is a list of what the borough's Leisure Club has happening for the next month. All residents over 60 are invited to join the group. See details below on how you can get involved in the various senior activities.

• It's spring time at the zoo! Join us for a bus trip to the Bronx Zoo on Wednesday, June 12 at 9 a.m. and enjoy the Congo Gorilla Forest, the Wild Asia Monorail, the Butterfly Garden, the Zoo shuttle, a 4D Theatre and Jungle World. Following the morning activities, the bus will travel to Arthur Avenue to enjoy all it has to offer in Italian restaurants, bakeries, butchers, breads and more. Have lunch on your own or enjoy dessert in a quaint cafe. Price is $38 per person made payable to Ramsey Seniors. The trip requires some walking, so wear comfortable shoes and bring your hat and sunscreen. The bus returns to Ramsey around 5:30 p.m. 
• The fall trip to Nashville, Tennessee on September 15 -20 has begun taking reservations. Included in the six-day journey will be a backstage tour of the Grand Ole Opry, a guided tour of Nashville, the Country Music Hall of Fame, five breakfasts, two dinners including the Nightlife Dinner Theatre and the Wild Horse Saloon. • The men's bocce group are meeting at the Ramsey Pool at 1 p.m. every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The ladies group meets once a week at 10 a.m. 
• The morning walkers meet Monday through Friday at 8 a.m. at Varka's parking lot. Those who wish to walk at 9:30 a.m. meet at the Interstate entrance to the bike path. 
• Ping Pong is all the rage! Join the fun every Monday and Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at the senior center, or Friday at noon to meet  your opponent. There is also a group that meets every Tuesday at Smith School at 6:30. Anyone interested may join the group. 

For a monthly calendar of events, stop by the senior center in Finch Park. Ramsey residents over the age of 60 are invited to attend.
