Tire Flies Through Bus Windshield on Route 17
One passenger was seriously injured, reports say.
At least one person was seriously injured in a crash on Route 17 in Ramsey Monday morning as a tire flew through the front window of a commuter bus, multiple outlets reported Monday.
According to NorthJersey.com, one passenger was seriously injured when the tire flew through the bus’s windshield, and was airlifted to the hospital by helicopter. Other injured passengers were taken to hospitals via ambulance, the report said.
NBCnewyork.com reported there were 50 people on board the Trailways of New York bus that left Kingston, N.Y. Monday morning, stopped in Rosendale and New Paltz, and was headed to the Port Authority Bus Terminal in NYC.

According to nj.com, the tire had come from another car on the roadway. Both vehicles were pulled over after the crash, causing large back-ups along Route 17, the report said.
Authorities say they are continuing to investigate the incident.
