Two Borough Men Charged in New Milford Apartment Burglary, Nabbed in Ramsey
Duo was arrested by Saddle River Police in Ramsey, authorities say

Two Ramsey men allegedly leaving the scene of a burglary in New Milford Monday morning were quickly arrested in Ramsey by Saddle River authorities, police said Monday evening.
Charles Davis, 22, was charged with burglary, theft and criminal mischief, and Ian Skelley, 25, was charged with possession of CDS, under 25 grams, and possession of drug paraphernalia, New Milford Police Chief Frank Papapietro said. Both men are residents of Ramsey.
According to Papapietro, New Milford police responded to a report of a burglary Monday morning after a witness observed a man breaking into a Faller Drive apartment.

Papapietro said the witness also observed the suspect being dropped off in front of the apartment prior to his forcibly entering it. A search of the apartment by New Milford police found no suspect, but it was apparent that the apartment was burglarized and the suspect left through the kitchen window, Papapietro said.
"New Milford police recovered $690 in cash believed to be stolen from the apartment tossed on the ground outside," Papapietro said.

Approximately 30 minutes after New Milford police broadcast an alert for the suspects’ vehicle, Saddle River police spotted the car driving north on Route 17.
Saddle River, Ramsey and Upper Saddle River police stopped the car on E. Crescent Ave., behind the Pathmark in Ramsey, borough Police Chief Bryan Gurney said.
“We were there, and really just assisted with the motor vehicle stop and transport [of the suspects from Ramsey to New Milford],” Gurney said. Saddle River Police, who actually arrested the Ramsey duo, did not respond to a request for comment Monday evening.
The vehicle was searched and impounded, and New Milford police are continuing an investigation into the apartment burglary, Papapietro said.
