Volunteer Center of Bergen County Host Volunteer Opportunities for Families Affected by Edgewater Fire

Those wanting to help can volunteer at the site, donate money online and/or donate items to City Place in Edgewater.

Press release:

On Jan. 21, the 175 units of the Avalon Luxury Apartments in Edgewater burned to the ground, resulting in approximately 400 people losing their homes.

The Borough of Edgewater and Bergen County are working hand in hand with local disaster and emergency agencies as well as social services, legal services, insurance companies and housing and real estate organizations to move through this devastating period of disaster. Right now, the residents are trying to piece together basic insurance, housing and plans for day to day living.
