MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — A man tried to buy a 2-year-old boy from his mother last Wednesday afternoon at Hedden County Park, according to the New Jersey State Police.

Authorities are seeking out the man and have released a sketch to the public. He was described as a Hispanic man with a gold tooth in his mouth, age 47 to 58, 5’7” tall, and wearing a white tee-shirt and a black baseball hat with an “RM” logo.

The incident happened Wednesday at around 2:22 p.m. The man approached a woman who was with her son and made multiple attempts to purchase the child, authorities said.

After failing to do so, he met with two men between the age of 25-30 before leaving the park through the Park Heights Avenue gate in Dover Township.

Detectives are asking anyone with information or anonymous tips to call the Morris County Park Police Detective Bureau at 862-325-7716.
