Morris Co. Prosecutors Ask Help Solving 2011 Diner Owner Murder

The victim's family, along with CrimeStoppers, has made a $50,000 reward available for information leading to an arrest and prosecution.

ROXBURY, NJ — On Memorial Day weekend of 2011 diner owner Chafic Ezzaddine was found dead in his own restaurant. Now that 10 years have passed investigators remain hopeful they may crack the case and are asking the public to come forward with any new information.

Ezzaddine was last seen alive between approximately 5:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. on May 28, taking out the garbage outside Kenvil Diner, located on Route 46 in Roxbury Township, according to police.

He had closed up business earlier around 2 p.m. and people reported hearing his car alarm go off between 5:30 and 6 p.m.

His wife was the one who found the body by 6:35 p.m., in the diner's kitchen, after Ezzeddine didn't return home.

The Morris County Medical Examiner ruled Mr. Ezzeddine’s death a homicide. The cause of
death was multiple stab wounds.

Since then, the investigation has kept going and officials have pursued leads across multiple states, based on new information received, a review of existing evidence, and advancements in forensic technology.

No arrests have been made but investigators say they remain fully committed. The Ezzeddine family, along with the Morris County CrimeStoppers program, has made a $50,000 reward available for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of anyone responsible for the murder.

The family has also put up a website paying tribute to Ezzeddine as a husband, a father, and “a great man.”
