Laced Pills, $6.5K In Cash, Gun Seized By Morris Co. Taskforce

Two Victory Gardens residents were arrested and charged during a police operation last Tuesday, authorities said.

VICTORY GARDENS, NJ — Two Victory Gardens locals were arrested and charged on Tuesday, after a police operation by the New Jersey State Police and Morris County Narcotics Task Force found drugs, cash, and a gun, according to the Morris County Prosecutor's Office.

Police found 100 fictitious pills laced with fentanyl, a .32 caliber handgun, over $6,500 in cash, and approximately 1/2 ounce of cocaine.

Timothy Lyons-Garcia, 24, and Reyna Michelle Montes, 18, both face multiple charges, including possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession with intent to distribute drug paraphernalia, and possession of Xanax.

Lyons-Garcia was also charged with possession of fentanyl and possession of a firearm while committing a CDS offense.

"The recovery of fentanyl during the course of this investigation is another example of our efforts to curb the impact illegal opioids are having on our community," Acting Prosecutor Robert Carroll said.
