SHREWSBURY, NJ — There's more to come in the love story of the Monmouth County "Golden Bachelor" winner, Theresa Nist of Shrewsbury.

As was disclosed Nov. 30 on the final episode of the ABC show, viewers can look forward to the wedding episode Thursday for the popular series about mature love.

In November, Nist, 70, was chosen to receive the golden rose from bachelor Gerry Turner, 72. And Nist and Turner announced they were engaged.

Without missing a beat, show host Jesse Palmer then announced that a show about the couple's wedding would be aired on Jan. 4, from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. on ABC.

“The Golden Wedding” airs live on ABC, a spokesman for the company said, and viewers can watch episodes on demand and on Hulu.

So the excitement lingers for those following the show that saw Turner, a widower, meet and discover the woman he "could not live without" - out of 22 original contestants.

Turner and Nist both married young, had families and fulfilling lives. But both were widowed several years ago.

In this first series in the "Bachelor" franchise to feature older contestants, the collected experiences of a lifetime - often challenging ones - were featured in scenes from the show.

Contestants enjoyed some spectacular dates, had fun in a group pickleball game, and opened up to each other about their hopes - and fears - for the future.

Nist and Turner both have adult children; Nist also has grandsons. She and Turner - among other contestants - have become instant celebrities in the show watched by millions.

And the Jersey Shore got its share of the limelight. Earlier in the series, in a visit to Nist's family, there were shots of downtown Red Bank, sailboats on the river and video of a day trip to Seaside Heights.

Nist has said the show is a "cultural phenomenon." People stop and talk to her and support her and Turner's openness to love again after both lost their spouses to illness, she has said.

The two talk on the phone every night for hours and are learning more and more about each other, she said on the final episode in November.

"You can't put an age limit on love," Nist said. Even "if you have one day left, you have love to give."
