Green Fair At Red Bank Middle School To Celebrate Earth Day
The annual Red Bank Green Fair is Thursday, April 20, at the Red Bank Middle School, offering lots of information about helping the planet.
RED BANK, NJ — The annual Green Fair is coming to Red Bank Middle School, just in time for Earth Day.
The Borough of Red Bank Environmental Commission/Green Team is partnering with the Red Bank Middle School this year to host the annual Green Fair on Thursday, April 20, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Middle School, 101 Harding Road.
Earth Day, first commemorated in 1970, is on April 22.

The free event will offer plenty of information promoting recycling, composting, energy alternatives and recycled materials as art.
The Middle School will be sharing students' Earth Day projects, science experiments - and there will be a "Trashion" show of clothing made from recycled items, organizers say.

Look for giveaways from various sponsors, too.
The event teaches students about the environment - and helps them develop sustainable skills and habits they can use in adulthood, organizers say.

Green Fair activities include:
- Sustainable products and workshops
- Upcycled sculptures
- Terrapin (aquatic turtle) project
- Learn to Ride (EZ Ride)
- Middle School Trashion Show
- Tree Seedling Giveaway
- Reusable Bag Swap (leave a bag /take a bag).
Attendees also can chat with members of borough organizations, including:
- Red Bank Environmental Commission
- Red Bank Green Team
- Red Bank Shade Tree Commission
- Red Bank Animal Welfare Committee
- Red Bank Public Schools
Donations of diapers and wipes for Lunch Break and other non-perishable foods for other organizations are welcome.
