Iconic Director Set To Visit NJ On Film Screening, Q&A Tour

The event will give audiences the chance to see one of the director's latest films and participate in a live Q&A after the screening.

RED BANK, NJ — This summer, you can spend an evening with director Francis Ford Coppola when he brings his “Megalopolis” tour to New Jersey.

Known for directing films such as “The Godfather,” “Apocalypse Now,” and “The Outsiders,” Coppola will bring his 2024 film “Megalopolis” to the Count Basie Center for the Arts on July 20, as well as to select cities across the country.

The exclusive event will offer attendees the rare chance to experience the film as it was meant to be seen on the big screen and surrounded by a live audience.

Following the screening, Coppola will lead an interactive conversation about the future of humanity, along with a live audience Q&A.

“This is the way MEGALOPOLIS was meant to be seen,” Coppola said in an online post. “In a large venue, with a crowd and followed by intense interactive discussions about the future.”

The event will take place at Hackensack Meridian Health Theatre on the Basie Center Campus.

Doors are set to open at 6 p.m. and showtime is at 7 p.m. Tickets for the event start at $36 each and can be purchased here.

Alongside Coppola’s stop at the Count Basie Center Campus, other tour locations include:

  • July 23: The Capitol Theatre (Port Chester, NY)
  • July 25: The Chicago Theatre (Chicago, IL)
  • July 27: Paramount Theatre (Denver, CO)
  • July 29: Texas Theatre (Dallas, TX)
  • Aug. 1: Palace of Fine Arts (San Francisco, CA)
