Letter: GOP Council Candidate Says Time for Change in Red Bank

BOE member Suzanne Viscomi says 'spending in our town is out of control'

Editor's note: Suzanne Viscomi, a Board of Education member and Republican Borough Council candidate, released the following statement:

The Democrat Mayor and Council have held power for too long with little positive effect. Spending in our town is out of control, and there's no one in a position of leadership who is willing to cut the purse strings – well that’s going to change! There needs to be a diversity of thought and opinions in the democratic process, and our current council just doesn’t have that.”

These guys have voted for every single tax increase put before them. We need to bring some fiscal responsibility to the table. We are living in hard economic times, and the people of Red Bank will not stand one tax increase after another. Enough is enough.

As a councilwoman, I will strive to bridge the gap between the Town Council and Red Bank’s administrative services, while bringing quality, affordable government to the people I represent. If I am elected to the Town Council, I will hold myself accountable to the residents of Red Bank by demanding the highest level of transparency possible, due diligence, fiscal responsibility and full disclosure of the decision-making process.

Suzanne Viscomi
