‘A Little Shakespeare’ Returns To Two River Theater

This year, the program will transport audiences to an island where anything is possible with an abridged version of "The Tempest."

RED BANK, NJ — Two River Theater’s popular education program, “A Little Shakespeare,” is back for the 12th year in a row.

Each season, the theater produces a 75-90 minute adaptation of a Shakespeare play that aims to engage young artist with the work of the Bard.

This year, the program will transport audiences to an enchanted island where anything is possible with an abridged version of Shakespeare’s “The Tempest,” adapted and directed by Noelle Marion.

The production, designed by theater professionals and performed and supported backstage by high school students, will run from Jan. 24 through Feb. 1. Single tickets are now on sale.

“This season, ‘A Little Shakespeare’ explores magic, deceit, loyalty, revenge, love at first sight, debauchery, and ultimately the power and freedom of forgiveness,” Director of Education Kate Cordaro said.

“This production is beautiful already and we’ve just started rehearsals," Cordaro said. "I am truly excited about working with this creative team and our cast and crew of talented high school students. You won’t want to miss The Tempest!
