Monmouth County High Schools Ranked Among Best In NJ For Athletes

MONMOUTH COUNTY, NJ — Multiple high schools throughout Monmouth County have been ranked among the top 100 high schools in New Jersey for athletes, including one high school that was ranked in the top 10.

These high schools were named as part of Niche’s 2026 rankings of the Best High Schools for Athletes in New Jersey. Niche, which ranks schools yearly on academics, recently released the ranking that covers 535 New Jersey high schools.

Included in the top 10 high schools of Niche’s 2026 rankings is Red Bank Catholic High School, which offers various sports for students ranging from basketball to cross country, field hockey, football, golf, lacrosse and more.

In addition to being named in the top 10 best high schools for athletes in New Jersey, Red Bank Catholic was also ranked #57 in Niche’s Best High Schools for Athletes in America ranking.

“So proud of our student-athletes,” the high school said in an online post. “Go Caseys!”

Niche rankings are based on several factors, according to Niche’s methodology page, including the number of sports offered, the number of students participating in sports, and the school’s enrollment in grades 9 through 12.

Reviews on Niche posted by parents and students also weigh into the data and account for 50 percent of the score. State championships won by the schools factor in as well, with 10 percent of the score coming from that category.

In Monmouth County, the high schools that ranked among Niche’s top 100 high schools for athletes in New Jersey include:

• #81: Shore Regional High School (West Long Branch, A in Sports)
• #87: Middletown High School North (Middletown, A in Sports)
• #89: Red Bank Regional High School (Little Silver, A in Sports)
