Movie and a Flash Mob at Riverside Gardens

Prior to the start of Shore Flicks' showing of 'Back to the Future,' Live Vest Inside promoted cheer with their flash mob.

One of the enduring scenes from the 1980's classic "Back to the Future" is when Marty McFly plays guitar on stage at the Enchantment Under the Sea Dance where his parents kiss for the first time and a flash mob breaks out and dances to K'Naan's Waving Flag

OK, so maybe the last thing never happened in the film, though it did in Riverside Gardens Park Tuesday as part of Shore Flicks' outdoor movie series. Prior to the start of the Michael J. Fox classic, with a light rain falling from a single cloud hovering overhead, a group of more than two dozen people broke into a choreographed dance before a crowd of onlookers scrambling to get cameras and cell phones out of their pockets before it ended.

Called Life Vest Inside, the Brooklyn-based nonprofit, has performed flash dances throughout the area and even filmed its movie Kindness Boomerang in Red Bank. The video, posted on YouTube, has more than 6 million views.

Life Vest founder Orly Wahba, waving a flag and sporting, what else, a life vest, said the purpose of the group is to change the world by spreading kindness seeking out the goodness in all people.

The gathered crowd certainly seemed to enjoy it.
