Man Charged With Setting Fire to Vehicle in Red Bank
A Neptune resident has been charged with arson after setting a vehicle on fire in Red Bank in 2010.

Douglas Arthur, 26, of Neptune has been charged with arson after an incident that occurred on September 9, 2010 in Red Bank.
According to Monmouth County Courthouse records, Arthur placed a rag in the gas tank of a vehicle on West Bergen Place and then proceeded to light the rag on fire, causing over $2,000 in “extensive” damage to the car at approximately 11:00 p.m. that night.
It was not made clear at this time if the defendant knew the owner of the vehicle.

After an investigation by Red Bank Police Officer Matthrew Ehrenreich, Arthur was arrested and charged on August 16 with arson, and is currently being held at Monmouth County Correctional Institute. Bail has been set at $15,000 with 10% option by Judge William Himelman. Arthur has a first court appearance scheduled for August 21 at 8:30 a.m.
