New Jersey Ballet Set To Visit Two River Theater In Red Bank

RED BANK, NJ — New Jersey Ballet will bring their program, “Creative Forces,” to Two River Theater on Saturday, Nov. 16.

At 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., attendees will be able to see works by acclaimed choreographers Jerome Robbins, Peter Martins and Justin Peck, featuring contemporary pieces and classic ballet.

By featuring works by Peck and Martins alongside Robbins, the company is aiming to underscore its commitment to modern ballet storytelling.

“This program celebrates the incredible range and depth of ballet,” Artistic Director Maria Kowroski said. “From the elegance of Robbins' In the Night to the innovative spirit of Peck's Murder Ballades and Martins' Hallelujah Junction, we are excited to showcase the full scope of this art form.”

Kowroski, a former principal dancer at New York City Ballet, has collaborated with all three choreographers for the show and provided her unique insight into sharing their artistry with NJ Ballet audiences.

Robbins, one choreographer for the show, previously served as the New York City Ballet's associate artistic director, and created numerous ballets for the company.

Peck is currently New York City Ballet's resident choreographer, and Martins previously served as the ballet master-in-chief at the New York City Ballet.

The "Creative Forces" program marks a step forward for the company in bringing their performances to New Jersey, and aims to exemplify ballet’s ability to convey “a wide spectrum of emotions and narratives, offering an unforgetting experience filled with beauty, strength and human complexity.”
