New Pedestrian Warning Signs Installed Near Riverview Medical Center
The warning beacons aim to better alert approaching drivers to pedestrians in the crosswalk, Commissioner Director Thomas Arnone said.

RED BANK, NJ — The Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners has activated overhead pedestrian warning beacons near Riverview Medical Center in efforts to improve pedestrian safety.
The beacons have been installed at the intersection of East Front Street (CR 10) and Riverview Plaza, officials said.
The warning beacons aim to better alert approaching motorists to pedestrians in the crosswalk, Commissioner Director Thomas Arnone said.

“Our primary concern when it comes to our roads is safety,” Arnone said. “Over time, Riverview Medical Center officials have shared their concerns regarding safety for their employees and pedestrians."
"Approximately 1,200 pedestrian crossings occur at this location daily," Arnone continued. "The goal of installing the warning beacons is to provide safety to pedestrians and drivers.”

In the spring, county officials said East Front Street will also be resurfaced with new road signs and striping to be installed.
“I am proud to have spearheaded the installation of these warning beacons along with the entire Board of County Commissioners and our partners at the hospital in order to enhance the safety for the patients, visitors and hospital staff,” Arnone said.
