RED BANK, NJ — A group of nearby people came together with police and first responders Wednesday afternoon to help lift an SUV off a woman after she was hit by the vehicle and trapped beneath it, Red Bank Police Chief Michael Frazee said.

She was issued summonses of careless driving, view obstruction on windshield, and rate of speed crossing sidewalk, according to police.

The incident is being investigated by Sgt. Heather Kovar, Frazee said, who is the supervisor of the department’s Traffic Safety Unit.
