RED BANK, NJ — The Police Department is inviting the community to its annual National Night Out event on Tuesday, Aug. 1, from 6 pm. to 9 p.m. at Count Basie Field, Henry Street.

There will be a chance to meet with police and other first responders, plus a K-9 demonstration. Activities include music and there will be free food and beverages offered.

National Night Out is held in most states on the first Tuesday of August. It began decades ago with residents turning on porch lights, but it now is a community event.
