Residents Donate Bottled Water, Food To Support Red Bank & Shrewsbury First Aid
The donations were made for IMA Urgent Care & Primary Care's annual bottled water and granola bar drive to benefit local first responders.

RED BANK-SHREWSBURY, NJ — For the seventh year in a row, IMA Urgent Care & Primary Care hosted its annual Bottled Water and Granola Bar drive to benefit local first responders.
This year, the drive netted almost 700 cases of water and 300 boxes of granola bars.
Local residents and community members came together to support Shrewsbury First Aid, Red Bank Medical and Red Bank Fire Auxiliary with their donations.

“In our area, most of our fire departments and first aid squads are all volunteer and they rely on donations,” said IMA President, Brendan J. Mulholland, MD. “Bottled water and granola bar donations are a great way to help our first responders stay hydrated and nourished during an emergency.”
According to IMA officials, the drive is always hosted in June so the area’s local first responders have an adequate supply of water in the summer.

“Bottled water is important to first responders because, as we don our fire gear, which keeps the heat out as well as in, we sweat quite a bit, losing precious water,” the Middletown Assistant Fire Chief said.
“By having water on our trucks, we can replace that water and continue to help our neighbors," the Assistant Chief continued. "During these hot days, this is extremely important to keep us hydrated so we can be ready to help the next member of our community who needs assistance.”
