Road Work Under Way on Monmouth

The two-day job will repave Monmouth Street between Broad Street and Maple Avenue.

Road construction crews are currently stripping the surface of Monmouth Street between Broad Street and Maple Avenue to prepare it for a fresh layer of asphalt.

Work on the two-day job began early Wednesday morning. The road has been closed to through traffic - though pedestrians are allowed to walk through - both Wednesday and Thursday. Detours have been set up and police are currently patrolling the area to assist wayward drivers.

According to the borough, work is expected to conclude at 5 p.m. Thursday.
