A Summer Of Jazz: All-Woman Ensemble Set To Kick Off 'Jazz In The Park' Series

RED BANK, NJ — This Thursday, the non-profit organization Jazz Arts Project will launch its “Summer of Jazz” festival with a performance by the Grace Fox Big Band.

Led by the "trailblazing trumpeter" Grace Fox, the Big Band is an all-woman 16-piece ensemble known for its original compositions and dynamic stage presence.

Their debut album “Eleven O’Seven” has earned critical acclaim and is available on all major streaming platforms. According to event officials, their performance promises to set the tone for "a summer of genre-defying artistry and vibrant community spirit."

“Looking for a girls' night out?” Jazz Arts Project said in an online post. “The Grace Fox Big Band is an all-female lineup, and they are Big Band jazz at its best! They grace the stage this Thursday at Jazz in the Park.”

Set to begin at 7 p.m. in Red Bank’s Riverside Gardens Park, this performance marks the first in a season-long lineup of free outdoor concerts in two parks, in addition to ticketed café nights and two summer music camps for area youth.

The organization is celebrating its 20th year of commitment to musical excellence and community engagement.

For this series, each Thursday evening throughout the summer, officials said Riverside Gardens Park will “come alive with the sounds of jazz, soul, swing and even Latin flare – bringing together families, music lovers, and curious newcomers for unforgettable nights under the stars.”

Admission to the series is free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs, and picnic baskets to enjoy the music in comfort and style.

Grace Fox Big Band’s performance is set to kick off at 7 p.m. on Thursday. The “Jazz in the Park” series is presented in partnership with the Red Bank Department of Parks & Recreation.
