Women's Health Fair Planned At Red Bank's Two River Theater

Two River Theater, now presenting "The Scarlet Letter," will host a free Women's Health and Wellness Service Fair this Saturday in Red Bank.

RED BANK, NJ — Two River Theater is offering a free women’s health and wellness fair on Saturday, Feb. 24.

The fair will take place from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., in the Two River Theater lobby. Families are welcome.

The lead partners for the event are Hackensack Meridian Riverview Medical Center and Parker Family Health, both in Red Bank. There are additional free resources provided by other area organizations, including 180 Turning Lives Around, Brookdale Wellness Center, the Center for Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders, Feast Heartwarming Center for Women, Garden State Equality, Girl Scouts of America, JBJ Soul Kitchen, Lunch Break, the Mental Health Association, Monmouth County Health Department and Safe Kids of Monmouth and Ocean Counties at Monmouth Medical Center-Robert Wood Johnson Barnabas Health System.

Two River Theater is led by Artistic Director Justin Waldman and Managing Director Nora DeVeau-Rosen. The theater's world premiere production of Kate Hamill’s "The Scarlet Letter" is on stage now through Feb. 25.

The health fair is the theater's first women’s wellness event.

And it underscores the importance of community partners "coming together to champion this important cause of supporting and providing resources for female-identifying individuals in Monmouth County,” DeVeau-Rosen said.

Hackensack Meridian Riverview Medical Center will be offering free health screenings, including blood pressure, pulse, cholesterol (no fasting required), glucose, BMI and stroke-risk assessment.

Doctor discussions

Additionally, HMH doctors will be hosting a series of brief, informative discussions in the TRT Library specifically related to women’s health issues. The discussions will be by Dr. Harriet Beth Borofsky, Dr. Sheila Sahni and Dr. Stephanie Ann Sansone.

The speaking schedule is:

  • 10:30 a.m.: Heart Health and You, with Dr. Sahni.
  • 11 a.m.: Navigating the Pelvic Floor: When & Why to See a Urogynecologist, with Dr. Sansone.
  • 11:30 a.m.: What You Need to Know About Screening for Breast Cancer, with Dr. Borofsky.

COVID vaccinations

Parker Family Health and the Monmouth County Health Department will provide free COVID vaccines to the community. The first 20 people to get vaccinated will also receive a $20 Visa gift card. If you have previously received vaccinations, please bring your vaccination card.

Raffles

Two River Theater will also offer a free raffle for tickets to its upcoming productions of "A Thousand Maids" by Tony Meneses (April 6-28) and August Wilson’s "Gem of the Ocean" (June 8-30), plus a few donated items from community partners. All attendees will receive complimentary tickets to "Scarlet Letter" performances on Feb. 24 or 25.
