2-Hour Wait For Trains After MetLife BTS Concert A Possibility

Riders are warned there could be a 2-hour wait for trains at MetLife Stadium after the BTS concert Saturday, NJ Transit warns.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — Concertgoers seeing BTS at MetLife Stadium this weekend might be in for a long wait getting home, NJ Transit has warned.

Fans planning to see K-Pop superstars BTS at MetLife Stadium Saturday and Sunday may be subject to up to a two-hour wait to board trains from MetLife Stadium to Secaucus Junction, NJ Transit said in a news release Monday.

"As large crowds exit the concerts following the event, customers may be subject to up to two-hour wait times to board trains from MetLife Stadium to Secaucus," NJ Transit said in a statement.

The rail line from MetLife Stadium can move about 7,500 customers per hour.

Buses will run from Secaucus to the stadium before rail service begins at 4:17 p.m., NJ Transit said. Buses will supplement rail service to Secaucus after the concert.

Trains to Secaucus Junction from MetLife will run hourly from 5:24 to 9:24 p.m. After the event trains will run every 10 minutes until crowds dissipate and then every 15 to 20 minutes as needed.

Rail service to MetLife Stadium

There is no direct route from Penn Station in New York City to MetLife Stadium. Customers can go from Penn Station to Secaucus Junction and then take express trains to MetLife Stadium.

Rail service will leave Secaucus Junction every eight to 16 minutes from 4:17 to 7:52 p.m.

It took hours for people to get home from Wrestlemania 35 at MetLife Stadium recently. Many blamed NJ Transit for the wait, but NJ Transit blamed the event's organizer, World Wrestling Entertainment.
